My Journey Begins: Becoming an Elementary Teacher

Welcome to my Blog! My name is Abbi Sherberth, and I’m currently in high school working toward my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. This blog is something I’m genuinely excited about because it gives me a space to share my journey, ideas, and experiences along the way.

Ever since I was younger, I’ve admired teachers—not just for what they teach, but for how they inspire, support, and shape young minds. Choosing to pursue elementary education feels like the perfect path for me because I love working with children and helping them discover their future story.

As I begin this journey, I know there will be challenges, learning experiences, and lots of growth. Through this blog, I hope to:

  • Share what I’m learning in my education classes

  • Reflect on my experiences in the classroom (when I begin fieldwork)

  • Explore creative teaching strategies and ideas

  • Document both the successes and the struggles along the way

Right now, I’m just getting started, but I’m excited to see how much I’ll grow—not just as a student, but as a future educator. I believe teaching is more than a career; it’s a chance to make a real difference in students’ lives.
