I have a great memory of a past teacher who inspired me to pursue teaching. Her name was Mrs. Hathcock, and I truly believe she was everything a great teacher should be. Kind, hard-working, organized, caring, and loyal to her students. She would always go above and beyond to help her students in any way possible. I am now 35 years old, and this teacher will still bake homemade rolls for her students' birthdays and bring them to our workplaces. She's now retired, but never stopped loving us and going above and beyond.
ReplyDeleteI think what makes a great teacher to me is a teacher that cares about their students as if they were their own children. I had a teacher that was involved with all of her students and it inspired me to become a teacher. I also think that a good teacher should listen to their student, especially the younger ones, no matter how small their problem is. It probably seems like a big thing to them and it could be used as a learning opportunity. I've seen a lot of teachers not listen to what their students are saying and just tell them to go sit down instead of helping the student solve their issue.
ReplyDeleteVery well put together blog, I hope you accomplish your goal of becoming a school teacher!
